An exciting new position has become available within Pepkor Speciality Brands for an Area Sales Manager for Mangaung who will be based in or around Bloemfontein. The Area Sales Manager is responsible for a selected group of Refinery, Code and SPCC stores within the Mangaung area, and will need to ensure the effective, efficient and consistent implementation of the company’s operational strategy in order to maximize the result areas of the stores in terms of – sales, shrinkage, costs, people and profit.


Matric/Grade 12 qualification.
A retail/business/marketing management diploma would be a definite advantage.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Previous 5 years’ experience as a Store manager within a retail store, is essential.
It is essential that you have managed your current store for a period of 3 years as a Store Manager or a cluster of stores within an area.
A thorough and working knowledge of the day to day running of a store and experience with managing sales, shrinkage, cost and people.
Effective communication skills in English and a second language appropriate to the region.
Working knowledge of Microsoft office packages (Excel, Word PowerPoint and Outlook).
The successful candidate will be required to reside in or around Bloemfontein.
A valid Driver’s license is essential (this position will require traveling).
An inherent requirement for this position is travel and therefore the successful candidate will need to manage their ongoing travel requirements in their respective area and/or outside when the business requires.
The position of Area SalesManager requires extensive interaction with their stores and many other teams in the company, applicants will need to demonstrate their ability to interact effectively at all levels.

Key Responsibilities

Optimize the profitability of the division through the effective implementation of processes.
Generate and exceed sales budget and growth.
Ensuring administration compliance with company procedures and the financial controls of the stores in his/her Stores are consistently at the required levels
Ensure optimal staffing in the region.
Effective implementation and monitoring of company risk and strategy.
Oversee the effective stock management in all stores.
Provide leadership and clear communication and management of job performance.
Implement project plans to reach the given outcome.
