Business Development- Pricing Actuary

This is a varied role which encompasses different aspects of the responsibilities of the actuaries within GRSA. This is a self-starting, client relationship role which demands the building of new business with the management of successful relationships, not only with clients but within the organization.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and build Gen Re’s client portfolio
Drive an understanding of the financial and risk management needs of client portfolio and strategize solutions/products to meet those needs
Lead the negotiation of contractual work
Enhance and propose the Life/Health marketing strategy
Ensure quality and competitiveness of quotations and tenders
Build and leverage C-Suite relationships both internally and externally
Proactive involvement in industry events
Represent Gen Re in industry forums – be known as an industry expert
Create and deliver presentations and articles
Support the workflow of the Business Development and Pricing Team to ensure quality, execution, and timeliness of work

Qualifications ’ Experience

We are looking for an individual who has proven experience building profitable business in a collaborative and inclusive manner. An individual who is a qualified actuary (FASSA) with reinsurance experience.

Strong communication skills including verbal and written skills including the ability to summarize complex information clearly and concisely
The ability to work in a methodical manner with good analytical skills
Able to work under pressure in meeting internal and external deadlines
Strong problem-solving skills, particularly when in new situations or dealing with clients
Consistent pursuit of excellence in execution and delivery
Excellent numerical and analytical skills
Proficiency in actuarial and/ or statistical software and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet applications
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Prior work experience in pricing, product development or reinsurance
Innovative and willingness to continually improve on processes and systems being used
Must display client focus, creativity, intuition, integrity, decisiveness, collaboration, accountability and be prepared to represent the Gen Re with professionalism.
Ability to prioritize, while remaining flexible to deal with changing work demands
