Brief Description

The main purpose of this position is to co-ordinate all the programme- and project-related deliverables in the Economic Research Department (ERD) at the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).

Detailed Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

Provide project-related technical co-ordination in order to optimise the programme and project capital scope, costs and execution schedule.
Collate and co-ordinate project compliance documentation (e.g. the scope, quality, cost and schedule) for programmes and project plans.
Co-ordinate the development and review of the project charter, scope of work and cost estimate.
Co-ordinate strategic initiatives, programmes and projects in support of the delivery and smooth running of ERD’s strategic and operational objectives.
Co-ordinate the cross-departmental research project lab administration activities.
Collate risk management information and provide evidence of mitigation plans related to the programmes and projects.
Collate and co-ordinate project execution plan documentation tailored for each programme and project to ensure effective and efficient execution.
Collate documentation and compile governance requirements on all aspects of the project management framework.
Maintain a project repository in order to ensure that project information is accessible to all stakeholders and available for project audit purposes.
Maintain effective communication with various stakeholders (internal and external) throughout the project life cycle.
Co-ordinate estimates and cost control measures.
Co-ordinate and report on the programme and project schedules, performance and progress to the sponsor on a monthly basis.
Contain and follow up on project activities in the absence of the Project Manager in order to ensure project continuity.
Co-ordinate all documentation on lessons learnt and on workshops to implement best practice gained from experience into the project management systems, tools and guidelines for use in future projects in order to improve overall project management effectiveness and efficiency.
Co-ordinate the appropriate handover of programmes and projects to the programme managers, as per the Project Management Office (PMO) framework.

Job Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:

a relevant degree or an equivalent qualification at NQF 6 level;
a relevant project management certification;
the minimum of 3–5 years of broad cross-functional experience in project management and process management; and
exposure to research, regulatory and compliance programmes and/or projects.
