Role Purpose

To provide daily clinical development and clinical supervision of the operational team, ensuring the clinical team adheres to ethical and continued development regulations as per professional regulatory boards (SACSSP, HPCSA, EAPASA) and to oversee the delivery of clinical services in accordance with relevant regulatory bodies in conjunction with a client-centric approach.

Requirements

Qualification in Social Work / Clinical or Counselling Psychology / Registered Counsellor
Postgraduate qualification in Social Work would be an advantage
Registration with the relevant professional regulatory body is essential
5-7 Years’ experience in the counselling industry as a practitioner
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the supervision/leading of non-direct reports in counselling
Clinical experience in an employee assistance wellness environment would be an advantage
Clinical training/facilitation experience will be an advantage

Duties ’ Responsibilities

Monitor and evaluate clinical processes for quality and effectiveness
Contribute to the development of clinical protocols to determine the optimal process to implement the various client service solutions
Manage the clinical service function daily, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery within ethical obligations to relevant professional governing bodies
Provide expert advice to the internal operational team through individual and group supervision both daily and informal training sessions
Providing a monthly report to team leaders
Develop and coordinate continued professional development programmes for clinical staff
Coordinate the regular debriefing and wellness initiatives of the internal EAP Care Centre Team
Serve as the lead point of contact for the internal EAP Clinical Team
Provide counselling/coaching as part of the clinical service delivery team to clients
Co-ordinate various programmes within the care centre
Complete clinical audits on high-risk client companies

Competencies

Strong clinical background in various psycho-therapeutic frameworks and holistic models of wellness
Outstanding ability to coach, mentor, teach and develop clinicians in the field of counselling and wellness
Ability to motivate and inspire Team – create and maintain an open, positive working environment by generating commitment, building trust, a shared sense of purpose, empowerment in others and encouraging them to contribute to the best of their ability
Take responsibility for own development, resilience and self-care as a health professional; and actively mentor, coach and develop this responsibility in the clinical team
Self-awareness and insight
Manage self and relationships with others effectively, deal with ambiguity and pressure and provide perspective in difficult situations
High level of agility, resilience and composure under pressure towards complex situations within the internal team and external client
