Job Description
Breakdowns:

Repair breakdowns that cause unscheduled stoppages

Ongoing maintenance:

Carry out any necessary repairs that can be done during production
Hard face welds the mill and mill blower impellers
Hard face the bollard and maintain the rail truck off-loading equipment

Scheduled maintenance:

Monthly scheduled maintenance includes a 2-day shutdown on the filtraflo plant and a 1-day shutdown on the genulite plant. During this time routine maintenance must be carried out as specified in the filtraflo and genulite maintenance schedules

Project work:

Manufacture items that may be required as instructed by the Operations Manager
Carry out the necessary maintenance to the portable expander plant when required

Safety:

Ensure that the correct safety procedures are adhered to
Ensure that all tools are maintained in proper working conditions

Other:

Keep the workshops, scrap yard and surrounding areas are always kept safe, clean and tidy
Assist with various other tasks as instructed by the Operations Manager
Will be required to carry out any other reasonable, lawful and safe task related to the Olifantsfontein Factory operation as and when required

Qualifications ’ Experience

Matric
Technical qualification N4 or equivalent
Fitter Trade Test Certificate
1 + years’ experience in process control
Knowledge of planning, estimating and costing in an engineering spares environment
