About the Job

Mount Nelson Hotel is looking for a Human Resources Intern, on a fixed term 12 month contract, to perform various administrative tasks and support the Human Resources department’s daily activities.


Support the Recruitment and Selection function- advertise posts internally and externally, short listing of candidates for interviews, scheduling of dates, venue and times of the interviews and conducting all reference checks.
Support the Training and Development function, update the database on training statistics and filling training documents.
Assist the Human Resources Officer with issuing of uniforms for all staff.
Assist with Human Resources communication with all new joiners (new starter emails).
Liaise with IT to arrange PC and user access for all new joiners.
Assist with administration of new starters and terminations.
Accurate filing of Employee records.
Completing the Human Resources internal audit on Employee records periodically.
Create employee starter, welcome and induction packs.
Responsible for the ordering of stationery supplies for the Human Resources Office.
Assist with daily Human Resources related queries from staff.


Diploma/Degree in Human Resources Management from a reputable institute – preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exposure to Labour Law and employment equity regulations desirable.
A good understanding of HR functions and best practices.
Computer literate in MS Excel, MS Word and Gmail essential.
