Maintenance Manager – Paal

MCC Paarl is looking for a Maintenance Manager. This person is responsible for coordinating and supervising the maintenance team, managing mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks, adhering to safety regulations, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the company. Your focus will be on delivering excellent service to internal customers while meeting performance expectations.
Responsibilities:
People Management:

Coordinate and supervise the maintenance team to take care of all production equipment and machinery.
Manage job cards, ensuring accurate documentation of work performed, parts used, and time taken.
Foster teamwork and promote cross-departmental collaboration to drive continual improvement.
Active member of the day-to-day maintenance activities.

Process/Productivity:

Oversee all mechanical and electrical maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as per OHSAct regulations.
Maintain high standards of maintenance and housekeeping practices.
Coordinate responsibilities for effective manning, stock control and housekeeping of the maintenance workshop.
Implement and uphold the principles of the MCC quality program.
Coordinate and perform routine and preventative maintenance and be available for overtime work if necessary.
Develop an understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and actively participate in continual improvement initiatives.

Safety:

Ensure site compliance to all OHS Act regulations.
GMR 2.1 appointment.

Customer Satisfaction (Internal and/or External):

Attend to callouts, root cause analysis, problem solving and preventative action, as and when required.
Provide training on the handling and use of specialized equipment.
Manage stock levels of mechanical, electrical, consumables and other spare parts to ensure availability.
Proactively manufacture and/or order parts to minimize downtime.

Financials:

Maintain cost control on all maintenance expenses, call-outs and overtime to within monthly budgets and KPIs.

Projects:

Implement capex projects.
Initiate and implement productivity improvement projects.

General Maintenance of:

Buildings and terrain
Plant Services

Qualifications:

Minimum N6 Fitting ’ Turning or N6 Electrical qualification.
Qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical trade.
Supervision experience will be advantageous.
Minimum 10 years working experience in a technical department.

 

Skills:
