Short Description / Purpose of Job

Manage market and supply chain business development for natural gas and LNG sourcing – with focus being the integration of upstream and downstream business and projects; review the terms and conditions of future business agreements; implement appropriate governance model, risk assessment framework, and stakeholders' engagement framework as well as integrated programme management for gas supply and market development.

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

Manage market and supply business development in accordance with BD’I process from idea generation to feasibility.
Mobilize project teams and manage resource allocation across all functions to support market and supply chain business development.
Follow set governance model in market and supply chain growth projects and comply with regulatory requirements.
Develop an integrated business model that details work flows of various supporting functions (i.e. supply chain, finance, information management) to engage in more efficient business development.
Develop a stakeholders' engagement framework (including corporate finance, legal, audit, risk, SHE, etc.), and communicate fiduciary responsibilities to fulfil during the engagements.
Develop a business structure with compliance to local regulations and alignment with Sasol operating model, and communicate it with relevant stakeholders.
Develop multi-variable simulation/ analysis to determine optimal business opportunity (i.e. tax obligations, activities outsourcing, feed and product costs, financials, shareholding, environmental liability)
Develop a risk mitigation framework for the business opportunity and deploy mitigation measures as needed.
Conduct high-level screening of business opportunities and identify viable gas monetization options and upstream acquisitions.
Develop associated budgets and manage project activities in line with budgetary requirements.
Develop business development track record and consolidate business development opportunities with accurate representation of status, value-add, and risks.
Review the terms and conditions of future business agreements including NDAs, LOIs, MOUs, etc. in line with legal requirements, and lead the negotiations of these agreements.
Implement appropriate governance processes specific to the business opportunity.
Develop and implement an integrated risk management framework and cost-benefit analysis.
Develop and implement an integrated programme management framework to integrate and align upstream and downstream interdependencies, milestones and decisions.

Formal Education

B Sc Engineering or B. Com Honours Degree or Masters of Science
MBA or equivalent business qualification (added advantage)
