The consumer segment is a very large and exciting segment that embraces Credit, Debit and Prepaid verticals. We are on an exciting journey to expand our ability to provide the right value propositions and define product line strategies that really address the needs of the consumers.
This is an exciting and fast-paced role in market product management for the consumer product lines that would be well suited for those who enjoy being hands-on with strategy, has strong execution and delivering results. The role will focus on executing a strategy for consumer segments, building out new products and scaling existing solutions in the market.
Product management at Mastercard is a truly engaging function where we deploy our Product Management Excellence Framework applying design thinking methodology to delivering a consistent approach to innovation to differentiate MasterCard from its competition.

Role Purpose:

The successful candidate will be required to develop and manage products for the MasterCard Consumer segments categorized into the areas like Credit, Debit and Prepaid. You will be required to interface with Mastercard customers, internal sales and market development stakeholders, services and digital teams and divisional and regional product leads.
This role will be tasked to help achieve the Southern Africa Consumer Products P&L objectives in support of the regional initiatives that support MasterCard Middle East and Africa’s business and revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Core consumer areas – Credit, Debit and prepaid
Works with internal MasterCard teams to analyze internal and external stakeholder needs and issues
Tracks progress and reports on project plans for creation and implementation of new product features and enhancements
Supports development of internal knowledge documents such as case studies and industry best practices
Supports development of sales strategy and objectives, and provides training, material development, and product expertise for sales and RFP support
Supports the development of business cases and requirements for product enhancements


Experience reviewing data reports and developing preliminary product adjustment recommendations
Helped develop and manage a product or project budget/P&Ls (e.g., compiled estimates of cost drivers, developed bottom line numbers)
Demonstrated consistent success working with partners across other functions in support of product go-to market strategies
Solutions oriented and delivers superior results
