You are an experienced data scientist with proven experience in solving high impact business problems by providing actionable insights from large data sets and market intelligence
Ability to effectively apply a combination of statistical knowledge, programming skills and business acumen to identify, prioritize and solve high impact business issues
You have a reputation as a strong communicator
You influence people from different levels of the organization
You are innovative and curious
Simplify complex situations; strong analytical & problem-solving skills
Must be able to multi-task and project manage many tasks simultaneously
Ability to work under continual deadlines
Strong project and process management with proven ability for planning, scheduling & coordinating

What you’ll be doing;

Work cross functionally to collect, identify and prioritize complex business problems
Identify, cleanse, combine, analyse and visualise data from a variety of sources to obtain actionable business insights
Effectively communicate findings to leadership and translate them into recommended actions and ongoing tracking mechanisms
Conduct analysis of large and multiple data sets using statistical modelling and machine learning techniques
Develop written material and presentations, including visualisation techniques to communicate results and recommend innovative solutions
In-depth analysis on competitor and consumer trends to identify innovative growth opportunities and actionable insights to enhance customer, marketing, loyalty and communication strategies
Ongoing development and improvement of customer segmentation modelling to inform convenience and sales strategies

What you’ll have done before

NQF Level 7 (Degree in Business Science/ Economics/ IS/ Computer Science/ Research/ Decision)
8 years’ experience in Data Science Analytics or Statistics
Experienced with data visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Qlikview etc)
Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig or similar
Experienced in the use of analytical tools (R, Python etc.) with machine learning and algorithms
Excellent applied statistics such as modeling, testing, regression, time series forecasting and sampling


Postgraduate qualification in marketing, customer experience or research analysis
Experience in research analytics
