Mine Overseer – Kuruman

Requirements:

Grade 12
Underground Blasting Certificate
Mine Overseer’s Certificate of Competency
8 years of experience in an underground mining environment
2-5 years experience as a Mine Overseer

Responsibilities:

Obtain, check, and refine information. Collate and submit reports. Run data exception reports and take corrective action. Conduct document control spot checks
Identify recurring problems and derive creative solutions involving team members. Recognize and
reward team members efforts
Implement compliance requirements. Communicate compliance changes.
Plan, direct and assess Quality Management within sub-function and recommend remedial actions
where necessary to ensure adherence to TQM principles
Promote and assure adherence to safety, health, and environmental procedures. Identify unsafe and hazardous situations
Diagnose incidents and accidents by completing root cause analyses and taking corrective action
Conduct risk assessments. Stop work in unsafe areas. Ensure safety programs are executed
Provide input into functional planning. Interpret functional plans and develop sub-functional plans
Ensure the operational plan is implemented
Manage the efficient and effective utilization of resources.
Optimise systems and processes continuously to ensure production efficiency targets and operational plans are met
Optimise the core operational internal processes and internal supply chain and resolve operational conflicts
