Job Purpose

The job purpose of Multi-Media & Content Designer for the IoDSA is to create engaging and on-brand content in the multimedia space for a variety of media to provide, maintain and enhance the professional level of support and services rendered, both internally and externally, as required within the professional environment of the IoDSA.

Role within the organisation

The reputation and the corporate image of the IoDSA are both factors that you will have direct influence over. As Multi-Media & Content Designer your main role within the organisation will be the entire process of defining requirements, visualising and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts using multitude of skills including Videography, Editing, Motion Design, and Graphic Design.
You’ll be the one to shape the visual aspects of our website, collateral, magazines, product packaging, advertisements and more.
Your graphics should capture the attention of those who see them and communicate the right message. For this, you need to have a creative flair and a strong ability to translate requirements into design. You should be able to communicate well and work methodically as part of a team.
Your video skills will include setting up of video equipment and backdrops for shoots and capture footage successfully in a studio set up as well as at events. You will be required to act as internal photographer from time to time at company events.
The goal is to inspire and attract the target audience.
An excellent level of customer service/attention to detail/support is required from you at all times.

Key responsibilities and duties
Design & layout in line with corporate identity

Design and create visual content for social media, digital advertising, website, internal communications, and other platforms and publications.
Create compelling and shareable videos, gifs & graphics for Instagram, Facebook, Youtube and other emerging platforms.
Translate ideas into successful short-form video stories.
Identify and analyse social media trends.
Manage/interface with external content creator collaborator and vendors.
Develop content strategies and collaborate with colleagues across the division to create multimedia campaigns to be executed across various platforms.
Work closely with team members and stakeholders to execute and manage aspects of the iterative design process for social, paid digital, web and print collateral.
Performs other related duties as required.
Communicating with internal clients about layout and design.
Create required marketing collateral/materials using Adobe’s Creative Suite—including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects and more.
Creating required designs for all IoDSA business needs.

Required skills and knowledge (Technical Requirement)

Fluent in video and graphic applications such as Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop
Proficient in Illustrator (3D experience is nice to have)
Experience with shooting, directing interviews, B-roll, & interviewing subjects
Quick study – ability to learn new camera gear, equipment
Understand sound design, capturing, editing, etc. (podcast experience is a plus)
A love of communication and creatively crafting a message with intent first
Values the creative process and guidelines, but knows when to break them, and can take creative direction and feedback
Is a storyteller who can target a message for an audience
Has the practical know how to creatively engineer their ideas
Can be trusted to work independently, but knows the value of a team collaboration

 Experience, training and qualifications (Technical Requirement)

5+ years working experience in a similar role or in marketing/communications
Bachelor/Associates degree or equivalent experience/education
Formal design qualification from a University or a reputable institution like (AAA school of Advertising / Vega etc
