Portfolio Manager – Midrand

To develop and manage a portfolio of consumer products as part of a product team in line with company goals and CBU strategy.
To actively drive the Data strategy and product roadmap of the company.
Your responsibilities will include:
To input into the Data strategy and deliver to the product roadmap timelines. Working with senior management and group units to align roadmap to business and industry direction.
Review competitor context to identify new product opportunities based on consumer demand, market trends, historical data and performance. Keep track of competitor launches and take measures to mitigate risks
End-to-end product delivery – to work with different parts of the business to deliver products and services (This would involve working on documentation, providing inputs and evaluation for financial business cases, defining business rules and working with customer experience teams to define and refine customer journeys)
Detailed Product Performance management – to deliver revenue projections and forecasts for revenue and analyse and identify shortfalls and areas of improvement
To provide guidance and direction to product managers, specialists and graduates in the team.
To regularly review products performance against financial business case and annual targets to ensure the performance is in line with initial assumptions and implement corrective measures if needed and also look at how to improve/enhance products
Monthly product presentations for an audience consisting of managing executives and senior management
Proactiveness to drive cross-functional teams to deliver product objectives. Building strong relationships with key stakeholders in the business and engaging with them to ensure feedback and learnings in channel are being brought into product enhancements
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
Relevant 3 year Business Degree or Technical Degree essential and
Minimum 9 years’ relevant experience essential
MBA is advantageous
Prior telecom experience advantageous
Prior senior product management experience is essential
Understanding of telecoms product and technology advantageous
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
Understanding of financials, commercial acumen
Communication skills, written and verbal
