Production Planner – Johannesburg

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The main purpose of this position is to focus on the planning section in order to develop daily/ weekly and monthly production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met. They will determine material, equipment and labour requirements also prepare status and performance reports.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES ’ RESPONSIBILITIES):
The key responsibilities of the position are as follows, but not limited to:

Coordinating production workflow for multiple products.
Work closely with production and process engineering to monitor production process to ensure that production orders are completed on time.
Promptly addressing and resolving production issues to minimise delays in production.
Monitor jobs for on time in full.
Provide production status update to management.
Further develop and implement long term solutions to improve the department.
Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
Communicate and cooperate with Leader and colleagues.
Create and maintain schedules.

MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Industrial Engineering B.ENG / Diploma in Project Management (or Equivalent).

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 2-5 years professional market related experience in production planning, preferably to have plastic card experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL ’ ABILITIES:

Ability to manage and support customers / functions / management.
Provide meaningful input to superiors in order to facilitate decisions- must show leadership qualities.
Ability to handle and prioritise multiple tasks.
Strong problem solving skills.
Strong communication and writing skills are essential.
Strong presenting skills and documentation skills.
Cost conscious skills with improvement skills are essential.
A desire to promote the success of the organisation and production staff.
