Job Description and Responsibilities

Leading, managing and coaching Group Leaders in order to achieve a congruent and focused team
Managing absence within teams in order to ensure a smooth production operation
Identifying, addressing and resolving any barriers that may hinder the workers’ performance, i.e. policies, procedures, practices etc.
Ensuring that employees reporting to you understand their role in terms of targets, quality, through-put, maintenance and costs.
Driving continuous improvements in all processes.
Managing the full shift to achieve the required KPI’s, (Quality, Volume, Safety etc.).
Conducting daily Shop Floor Management (SFM) meetings to discuss the item on the board and how these will be resolved (limited to own SFM area and team)
Conducting shift handover at the start and the end of a shift to ensure that all Quality related issues are understood and supplier related concerns are addressed.
Managing complaints and the development of people effectively.
Set objectives; perform appraisals and control performance behaviour of group leaders.
Initiating the hiring and disciplining of employees as well as the transferring of employees according to the relevant HR policies.
Taking responsibility for shift related Safety and Housekeeping (limited to own section).
Monitoring recurring defects and work back to source.
Assist in repair areas with Technical knowledge, know-how and coaching on how to repair faulty units, to reduce the number of off-line units.
Reporting reasons for losses and recommend corrective action.
Participating in daily Production Meetings and Audits.

Education and Experience

National Diploma/ Degree in Production Management /Operations Management or relevant engineering qualification.
Minimum of 5 years in production experience.

Knowledge of VW production processes in order to determine future optimization and/or past failures.
