Assist the EPPF to proactively identify project requirements and accurately forecast specific project requirements
Define and implement good practices regarding project management and administration in line with industry best practice
Develop and implement governance mechanisms to support the effective execution of projects
Maintain regular reports presenting a consolidated view of the EPPF project portfolio in terms of budgets, time, resources and deliverables
Manage planning of resource requirements, ensure sufficient capable resources are in place to meet service delivery demands, maintaining the effective and efficient capability of the project team.
Build a high performing team where the best people are deployed in the right roles and deliver against strategy.
Ensure that all employees are motivated, developed.
Manage employees’ performance and ensure that their individual and collective performance is of the required standard.
Implement and maintain an effective system of internal controls and delegations of authority for the department, to ensure that accountability for decisions made.
Inspires, aligns and engages employees around the vision and strategy of the Fund, maximising employee engagement and willingness to invest discretionary effort
Liaise with key stakeholders to gain an understanding of specific project needs and the project implementation environment, where this relates to current and future projects identified by line management
Manage and monitor all on-going projects in terms of delivery and providing an PMO service delivery
Plan, Monitor and manage project capacity requirements
Close off completed projects to the appropriate business or functional area and ensure proper project closure governance
Compile project implementation and PMO budgets, project scopes/plans and deliverables and submit for approval
Ensure that project risks and issues are Identified, escalated where necessary and mitigated by using strong governance frameworks and administrative practices
Chair project governance forums where designated and attend project meetings and discussion forums
Ensure that project reports and regular updates for strategic forums are delivered in time and in a simplified yet professional format
Plan, Lead and coordinate the procurement process around the appointment of vendors and service providers to assist the PMO with the execution of projects insofar as Project Management is concerned.
Establish relationships with suitable vendors and service providers for current and future projects
Identify, coordinate and establish mechanisms to drive enhanced value from project vendors and service providers
Define Project budget
Execute the budget
Control and monitor the budget
Update and report on the budget

Requirements
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING

Bachelor’s Degree
Acknowledged Project Management Qualification
Project Management certification (Prince -2; PBBOK or equivalent) – (Advantageous)
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus (Advantageous)

TECHNICAL COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

In-depth knowledge of Project Management as a discipline
Knowledge of pension fund governance frameworks
Strong background in business skills, management, budgeting and analysis

REQUIRED MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

At least 6 years’ experience
Sound knowledge of project management experience with strong capabilities in the IT systems implementation environment
Financial services background will be advantageous.
