Quality Manager

Job purpose:

Manage quality department and all quality related processes in line with ISO and industry standards so to provide the necessary environment for excellent quality production.

Key performance areas

Manage the quality team and laboratory.
Ensures that the shopfloor performs within set quality guidelines by providing or co-authoring standard operating procedures.


Understand and implement the quality strategy.
Ensure full compliance to all quality systems and processes.
Ensuring that products adhere to agreed quality standards.
Management of internal and external non-conformances in an effective and timely manner.
Implementing methods to inspect, test and evaluate products and production equipment.
Approve finished products assuring that the product conforms to technical specifications and drawings.
Assist production lines with unforeseen quality challenges, provide guidance and implement corrective actions.
Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
Working according to deadlines for the delivery of products
Training and managing production line staff in production practices and quality assessment of goods.
Tracking products through the manufacturing process to guarantee that each part of the process is correct.
Performing detailed and recorded inspections of final products so the products are up to industry and company standards.

Customer Service:

Partners with key stakeholders to:
Defines proactive, strategic initiatives towards improving and maintaining quality products.
Provides contribution towards business development activities relative to product quality.
Supports in customer negotiations with respect to quality issues ad closures.
Acts as a Lead Solution Manage


Minimum educational qualifications / experience required:
Minimum NQF Level 5 tertiary qualification in relevant technical / production / quality / engineering / food field
Qualified Flexographic printer is advantageous.
Advanced knowledge in quality systems is preferred.
Advanced knowledge and experience in quality control and assurance systems and processes
Experience in flexographic printing processes and materials advantageous
Experience in the packaging and labeling industry advantageous
Knowledge and / or experience in safety, health and environment is advantageous.
