Research Manager: Public Economy Project South Africa- Grant Funded Two Year Contract

The SCIS seeks to appoint an experienced Research Manager to assist with managing its research programme in the field of macroeconomics, public finance and budget analysis. This person will be experienced in both the production and management of research and complex projects, and have experience working with a range of strategic stakeholders. They should also have the capacity to develop and execute their own research projects.

Brief Description
REQUIREMENTS:

At least a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in a research related field, especially economics;
Between 10 and 15 years’ with extensive experience in managing multiple projects in an organisation/s similar to SCIS and in budget analysis, public finance and macro-fiscal policy
Experience designing, implementing and managing research projects in an academic, civil society or policy setting;
Excellent project management and administrative skills with the ability to manage complex and demanding projects; Ability to work with a range of organisations and stakeholders in policy dialogue and engagement.
A high level of motivation, the ability to work with limited supervision and a commitment to progressive policy formulation for South Africa and the global South.
