Description

Resolve escalated IT Infrastructure problems;
Ensure that SLAs are achieved via quick restorations;
Responsible for configuring, installing, and troubleshooting optical IT infrastructure equipment;
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software and network related problems;
Maximise network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with senior engineers / vendors on network optimisation;
Create and maintain network documentation including, Network Diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures, High Level Designs and Low-Level Designs;
Ensure that customers are kept up to date on the progress of outages;
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in telecommunications networking, actively engaging in skill enhancement and process improvement initiatives;
Manage escalations to Vendor/Supplier;
Ensure that the network is operational and monitored;
Perform capacity planning and optimisation;
Conduct regular infrastructure audits and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices;
Maintain desktops (hardware and software), server and network infrastructure;
Monitor and maintain backup and disaster recovery operation;
Plan, coordinate, and implement infrastructure security measures to protect data, hardware and software;
Monitor the network performance to ensure optimal efficiency;
Maintain, upgrade, and support FlySafair’s corporate network and server room;
Monitor of all IT Infrastructure;
Provide third level support to the helpdesk and support team;
Procure hardware or software as and when required;
Troubleshoot all IT and Infrastructure related issues;
Manage and maintain business systems;
Provide suggestions regarding the acquisition of technology assets;
Conduct research on existing and prospective resources and service providers;
Monitor and maintain all telecommunication technology;
Install and integrate new server hardware and applications;
Support and administer third-party applications;
Responsible for the follow-through of all divisional procedures and policies;
Enhance existing procedures and processes;
Maintain complete confidentiality with all company information;
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure infrastructure reliability and scalability;
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders;
Build and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
Act as the liaison between the IT and Innovation applications and teams;
Act as the liaison between IT and 3rd party providers;
Produce reports as and when required.

Requirements

Grade 12 or equivalent;
Diploma in IT;
5 years’ experience in a similar role (Essential);
Virtualization experience (Essential);
A+, N+ and / or relevant working experience;
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE);
PABX / VOIP Experience (Essential);
Enterprise Anti-Virus Experience (Advantageous);
Cloud Computing experience (Essential);
Routing and/or switching experience (essential);
Firewall experience (Essential);
Scripting;
Required to be available outside regular hours when necessary for handling emergencies, special projects, and any technology related tasks that could disrupt business operations;
Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware;
Knowledge of application and network infrastructure protocols;
Good communication skills (written and verbal);
