Purpose of Role
The job purpose of the Weighbridge operator role is to manage the loading and certificating of all products produced by the Process plants. A key aspect of the role is maintaining the access point relating to drivers who is allowed to collect or deliver products as per product schedules.
Assisting the Stock controller to achieve the required Quality parameters as required by the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for this role. The Weighbridge operator’s role includes carrying out stockpile Inspections, Sampling duty, scale checks, housekeeping and maintaining loading as per set and agreed standards and procedures. Delivering on these activities will develop sales of the quality products and services we offer. All activities will comply with all legal, brand/banner, SOPS and professional requirements
Role Context

Ensure all inventory and stock requirements are maintained accurately;
Responsibility for releasing the “in-stock” levels within the agreed inventory parameters.( dry times );
Assist drivers to register on system when reporting to load promptly;
Immediately alert the Stock controller superintendent and Logistic Manager when a parameter has been negatively affected by external objects visible to them at time of inspections;
Maintain a process for sampling. Manage a defined area in the stockyard for sweepings. This area will include damaged and un-saleable goods;
Maintain harmonious working relationship with Transporters/Vendors within the operating parameters set by the business;
Observe the correct requirement protocols;
Observe correct stock protocols;
Complete all necessary stock levels documentation;
Maintain the stacker pads and the allocation of space for stock;
Have a working knowledge of trek system and Tontrac systems to load and cancel transactions when authorized to do so;
Comply with Tharisa Policy, Guidelines and procedures;
Consistently deliver customer service in accordance with our customer service standards;
Comply with our required personal grooming standards;
Use the Trek and or Ton Trac system to drive store information and maintain records of logistic stock performance;
Maintain Plan Housekeeping to the required standard, excluding Pragma.
Attend training as directed;
At all times comply with Occupational Health and Safety requirements;
Maintain good working relationships with your Manager and your peers;
Comply with all aspects of the Standard Operating Procedures manual;
Other work as directed by the Manager/Business Owner.

Requirements
Qualifications:

Grade 12 (Passed subjects, Maths and Science);
NQF Level 2 Mineral Processing Programme Skills.

Job specific experience:

15 Months’ experience as an Attendant in a metallurgical Process Operation / Laboratory assistant;
Literacy and Numeracy;
Computer Skills.

Inherent requirements

Must be medically fit.
